Ken Cousino received a Bachelor of
Science degree in Education from The Ohio State University
in 1983. He also did graduate work in public relations
management at the University of Houston from 1988 to
1991. He has served as a high school teacher, university
instructor, and public relations administrator, but says
he found a home when he became co-owner of Quality
Feed & Garden.
Chris Bules received a Bachelors of
Science degree in Accounting from The Ohio State University
in 1983. He had considered a career in veterinary science
because of his love of animals, but liked the lucrative
nature of accounting. He served as an accountant until
he became co-owner of Quality
Feed & Garden. He's still a great
accountant, but says it's much more fun when you're accounting
for your own company! |
| The two owners have been very involved
in the homing pigeon sport since 1985. You'll find
that the store is the region's leading supplier of
pigeon products as a result. Ken has served as president
of the North Side Limited Racing Pigeon Club, vice
president of the Greater Southwest Racing Pigeon Combine,
and vice president of the Gulf Coast Homing Pigeon
Association. |

Community Involvement
Quality Feed & Garden supports
area youth agriculture programs, the Houston Livestock
Show & Rodeo, HIV/AIDS patient care groups, local
schools, and churches. The store proudly assists the
Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA),
Houston Zoo, Texas Wildlife Rehabilitation Service,
and gardening programs for the United Way.
The store has received honors from Purina Mills Inc., Kaytee Pet Products, the
Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo, and also was voted "the best pet supply
store" in Houston by readers of the Houston Press newspaper.
You'll find advertisements in the local community magazines and newspapers, so
watch for coupons. Listen for the store's name and learn more about your lawn
and garden on the AM talk radio garden programs such as those hosted by KPRC,
KTRH and KSEV.
